Google® Toolbar provides users of Internet Explorer® (IE) and other browsers with a search box on the browser’s window for quick access to the Google® search engine, popup blocker and other features. Google® Toolbar is software installed in your computer with features that may or may not bring additional value while you work on your computer or surf the Internet.

Sometimes people don’t know where they got Google® Toolbar or how it ended up on their computers. It might have been installed as part of a set of programs called software bundles or by some other way. If you want to remove Google® Toolbar from your computer, follow the instructions below.

Why remove Google® Toolbar?

You may have a reason to remove Google® Toolbar from your computer. Perhaps you are dissatisfied with its features, or don’t want it to consume your computer storage and memory space which often slows down the operating system and interrupts computer performance, or some other reason.

How to uninstall Google® Toolbar manually from Windows XP®, Windows Vista® and Windows® 7:

  1. Go to “Start > Control Panel > Add or remove programs”.
  2. Select the “Google® Toolbar” application in the list and click on the “Remove” button.
  3. Go through all the dialog of the uninstaller and remove the Google® Toolbar with all components.
  4. Once the process has finished, click on the “OK” button.

Manual uninstalling Google® Toolbar in Windows® 8 Metro:

  1. Right-click on the Google® Toolbar tile you want to remove.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, a new bar will appear.
  3. Click the “Uninstall” icon.
  4. The classic “Program and Features” section of the Control Panel is opened.
  5. Simply right-click on the Google® Toolbar and select “Uninstall”.

Manual uninstalling Google® Toolbar in the Windows® 8 Control Panel:

  1. From the Start screen, place your mouse cursor to the bottom-right corner of the screen to display the side bar.
  2. Click the “Search” icon.
  3. In the search box, type “Control Panel” and click the “Apps” tile (option).
  4. A list of results will be displayed, including “Control Panel”. Click it.
  5. The classic “Program and Features” section of the Control Panel is opened.
  6. Simply right-click on the Google® Toolbar and select “Uninstall”.
  7. Go through all the dialog of the uninstaller and remove the Google® Toolbar with all its components.
