Knowing when someone is trying to reach you by telephone is important. For cell phone users placing their mobile devices in silent mode, a visual notification to signal an incoming call is one answer.
Some cell phones have an integrated diode on the front side of the device, which blinks when someone calls. For iPhone® users, the diode is replaced by the LED. Although primarily used for the camera flash, the LED can serve as a call alert.
In a few simple steps, users can turn the sound off on their iPhone, set the LED to flash for alerts and place the phone front side down. When an incoming call is on the line, the LED will blink. The instructions below explain how to set this feature on the iPhone®.
Setting LED notifications:
- Go to your iPhone® settings.
- Tap on “General”.
- Tap on Accessibility and then switch “LED Flash for Alerts” to the “ON” status.
