This article describes how to set folder attributes in Windows®, including how to hide folders.

Installation:

  1. Click on the “Start” button, then on the “Computer” (“My Computer”) option.
  2. Locate the folder you want to apply the hidden attribute to in your computer.
  3. Right-click on the folder and choose the “Properties” option.
  4. In the “General” tab, check the “Hidden” checkbox in the “Attributes” section.
  5. Click on the “OK” button.
  6. Now, choose if you want to hide the subfolders and files as well, and click on the “OK” button again.
  7. Congratulations! You have applied a hidden attribute to your folder or file and can rest assured that your files are safe and well hidden.
