Every user has lost an Internet connection at some point. For example, while browsing the Internet, you come across “Page Not Found” messages on your display. There are many possible issues and problems that can cause this, but before you call your ISP you can try some simple tricks, such as renewing or refreshing your computer Internet protocol (IP) address. The process takes only a few seconds and you can save time and money searching for other solutions. Simply follow the instructions below to find out how.
Instructions:
- Click on the “Start” button. Then, choose “Run” (or press the “Win Key + R” combination).
- Type “cmd” into the box and press enter or click the “OK” button.
- A window with the command prompt will appear. Type “ipconfig /release” and press the “Enter” button.
- Now, type “ipconfig /renew” and press the “Enter” button again.
- Close the command prompt windows or type “exit” and press the “Enter” button. Your computer IP address has now been renewed.
Tips and Tricks:
- If renewing your Internet protocol address does not help, try another solution like unplugging the cable from your computer and modem or router for a short time and then replugging it in. Also, you can try restarting your router and modem.
