The iPhone® automatically stores new words in its dictionary if they are used frequently. This tool is meant to help users avoid typos, but it can be inaccurate and replace correct words you don’t want to have changed. Unfortunately, there’s no way to selectively remove particular words. The dictionary can only be reset to its original factory settings, which will clear all learned words and start adding new words into its word bank. The instructions below explain how to reset the dictionary.
How to reset the keyboard dictionary on iPhone®:
- Go to “Settings”.
- Tap on “General”.
- Scroll down and tap on “Reset”.
- Tap “Reset Keyboard Dictionary”.
- A warning will pop up to confirm the procedure. Tap “Reset Dictionary” if you’re sure.
