How to never miss the latest news and how to set control of a RSS feed using Crawler RSS Feed Reader

As computer users, we are offered ways to customize our computers according to our needs and preferences, in much the same way as we change our software appearance and functions. You can install a useful facility to catch the latest headlines and receive full news stories on your desktop and view RSS & ATOM feeds directly in your Internet Explorer browser and system tray. This is the fastest way to be in touch with the rest of the world and how to get information from servers you choose without visiting them. If you are curious about a headline, a single click opens the article. The instructions below will show you how to set control of a RSS feed using Crawler RSS Feed Reader.

Instructions:

  1. Open your Internet browser. Go to the Crawler RSS Reader website.
  2. Click on the “Download Now!” button. Save the file to your computer and open it.
  3. The Installer will start with its feature window. Click the “Next” button.
  4. On the “License Agreement” page, please read the “Terms of Use and End User License Agreement.” Click the “Agree & Continue” button.
  5. When the process finishes click the “Finish” button. Your computer will probably need to restart.
  6. Now we need to set up the feature. At first, find a server supporting RSS feeds. We’ll use the CNN® server as an example. Open www.cnn.com and scroll down the webpage. Near the bottom is the navigation bar, click the “RSS” link.
  7. Choose the category you want and right click on the related link. From the menu choose “Copy Shortcut” or mark the link and from the right-click menu choose “Copy” (Ctrl+C).
  8. Now click on the dropdown “RSS Reader” in your toolbar in the Internet Explorer browser and choose “Add New Feed”.
  9. Insert the URL address we copied into the box under the third option. Delete everything in the box, then right click into the box and choose the “paste” (Ctrl+V) option.
  10. Click the “Add Feed” button, then restart your browser and the headlines will be displayed in Crawler Toolbar.

Tips and Tricks:

  • If you are interested by any headline just click on it in your toolbar and the article will open in your browser.
  • If you want to change the frequency of news updates, click on the dropdown “RSS Reader” in your toolbar, go to “settings” and change “Auto Update Frequency” for fewer minutes.
