how to set UAC to the lowest level

User Account Control is a protection tool that asks you for confirmation before running an installer or setup utility. This feature was first integrated in the Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system, and then in Windows® 7. By default, it is typically set to show a dialog box with the possibility of allowing or disabling the initialization of an application. You can choose from a higher or lower level depending how strict you want the protection to be. This article describes how to set it to the lowest level so you will not see notifications from the UAC and all applications will be launched without asking for your permission.

To Disable UAC in Windows® 7:

  1. Log in to Windows® on the account with administration rights.
  2. Go to “Start > Control Panel”.
  3. Click on the “Users Account and Family Safety” section.
  4. Click on the “User Account” section.
  5. Click on the “Change User Account settings” link.
  6. Pull the slider on the left side down to the “Never notify” level.
  7. Click on the “OK” button.
  8. Restart your computer.

Warnings:

  • If you disable the UAC notification, always consider your security risk and the how safe the source is of every application you install. You should have a security application installed and updated regularly.
