Until recently, choosing a smartphone was mainly a matter of aesthetic taste and mobile OS preference. Today, however, most mobile devices available use similar slate or candy-bar designs. As a result, performance has become a much more prominent differentiator when selecting a mobile device.
Plus, as mobile devices are getting closer and closer to becoming computers, their performance matters even more. Today, mobile applications are more complicated than they used to be and consequently system requirements are increasing for mobile apps.
There are many applications measuring the performance for the Android™ operating system. One is the AnTuTu® System Benchmark. It is an all-in-one benchmark designed to run tests on your device's CPU, GPU, memory, and storage. The CPU benchmark evaluates both integer and floating-point performance. The GPU tests assess 2D and 3D performance. The memory test measures available memory bandwidth and latency. The instructions below explain how to download, install and run a test of your Android™ mobile device.
AnTuTu® System Benchmark instructions:
- Open “Google Play℠” on your device.
- Tap on “Search” and type “antutu” in search box.
