Generally, there are two ways to improve the speed of a computer; increase its performance by buying newer or additional hardware, or using optimization software. Using comprehensive optimization software such as PCRx Registry Cleaner (described in this article) is the best option, or using a startup tuner utility if the focus is only on the operating system startup.
A tool called Startup Tuner is included with Spyware Terminator 2012 antispyware and will make your computer start up faster by preventing other programs from running while your operating system is starting. Many applications are set to start up while your operating system initializes, which means that your computer is unable to be used in that period of time. With this utility you can customize your startup program’s actions. Startup Tuner monitors your computer’s startup and displays a list of products “interfering” with this process. A user can manually set up each application with parameters on how it should behave during operating system initialization. Below are instructions on how to use the Startup Tuner in Spyware Terminator.
Instructions:
- First, install Spyware Terminator 2012 by following the steps from the article that focuses on the installation of Spyware Terminator 2012.
- Start the application.
- In the “Tools” tab click on the “Startup Tuner” button.
- A list of all the programs running at startup will be displayed. Choose the applications that can have their startup postponed and in the “Action” column set the dropdown menu to the “Delay” option.
- Now choose the application whose initialization can be skipped at startup and in the “Action” column set the dropdown menu to the “Disable” option.
- Click the “Save Changes” button.
- In the confirmation dialog box click the “YES” button.
Tips and Tricks:
- Set the “Delay” for launching communicators and multimedia applications. These aren’t usually needed immediately after startup.
Warnings:
- Do not “Disable” programs providing security or interface settings, it is better to set these to “Delay,” if necessary.
