Alternative Water Purifiers

As water purity becomes more and more vital world-wide, various purifiers have been developed to filter out pollutants and improve water quality. Alternative water purifiers include:

Ceramic Filters

Tiny pores in the ceramic material act as a filter to remove fine sediments and particulates. Ceramic filters are easy to clean and re-use.

Ozone Generators

Ozone can be a very effective microorganism killing machine and it can add life to water, improving its taste and clarity. Ozone can even be used alongside carbon filters for added filtration capacity. Although ozone is a very successful purifying method, some devices generate ozone as a byproduct. This byproduct is released into the atmosphere and damages air quality.

Kinetic Degradation Fluxion (KDF)

The patented KDF water purification system uses copper and zinc to cause an electro-chemical reaction that can remove the following pollutants from water:  iron, algae, fungus, bacteria, chlorine, chloramines, hydrogen sulfide, and many heavy metals.

Polyphosphate

This filtration technology has a number of practical uses including: reducing water hardness, removing odors, and improving water quality (especially taste and clarity). All of these tasks are the result of polyphosphate’s chemical ability to remove contaminants, heavy metals (like mercury and lead), organic residues, and keep minerals from sticking to pipes, causing corrosion.

Activated Tricalcium Phosphate (also called Calcium Hydroxyapatite)

This treatment depends on ion exchanges and absorption to eliminate heavy metals and fluoride. Though reverse osmosis and distillation can also remove fluorides, this process is unique in that it does not strip away natural minerals during filtration.

Ion Exchange (the Resin medium)

Typically, this method is used in an industrial setting. It removes dissolved salts (like calcium) from the water. The process does not require electricity and works well in combination with other filters (especially carbon filters).

Iodine Resin

Iodine resins disinfect water and eliminate all pathogenic organisms. Electricity is not needed to operate the unit or purify water. For truly microbiologically safe water, customers can use low residual resins that are versatile enough to be used in superior low-pressure and gravity-flow filtration devices.
